Al-Noor Muslim Primary School is a faith-based school on the outskirts of East London. We deliver a curriculum based on the National Curriculum, informed and supplemented by Qur’anic, Islamic and Arabic Studies.

Abu Bakr As-Shatiree Video

Many of you will know that we were honoured to have the famous reciter Shaykh Abu Bakr As-Shatiree visit the school back in March 2011. We are pleased to now be able to show you the video recording of his recitation. Sit back and enjoy. He recited Surah Nur, Surah Tariq and finished with a supplication for all at Al-Noor. We look forward to receiving him again sometime in the near future insha'Allah.

 
   
BMX Freestyle

Al Noor school were proud to host a breathtaking display of BMX freestyle tricks when Lee and Jimmy from Inspire Promotions came to the school. The event part of a series of events to encourage children to cycle to school saw Lee and Jimmy perform some brilliant tricks for the children.

Islamic Artwork at SS Peter & Paul

Al Noor teacher, Sameena Ahmad, delivered a workshop on 21st June '11 at SS Peter & Paul's school on Islamic Artwork. The collaboration came about after a visit by Mr James Johnson headteacher of the school to Al Noor in February '11. The workshop was enthusiastically received by classes in both Years 1 and 3, take a look at the pics here. The children even tried their hand at speaking Arabic! The link between the schools looks set to continue as we plan an end of year football match between the schools.

 

 
   
WOW Badge Winner receives 2011 Badge Design Competition Award

Ismail Khalil from Year 6 was officially presented with a copy of his winning badge design for the Walk to School campaign. His design along with 10 others was chosen from amongst thousands of entries to be the official badge of July 2012! The 'Walk to School' campaign encourages children to walk to school and thereby help to reduce congestion on the roads in London. The badges are awarded to children who walk to school at least once a week. The winning design by Ismail was particularly popular at the event held in the TFL building in Blackfriars, Central London.

Winners of Nida Trust 2011 Innovation Award for Citizenship

Al Noor school were the proud recipients of the Nida Trust 2011 award for innovation and creativity in Citizenship. The school was recognised for its excellent work in providing year 6 students with a transition curriculum designed to help children prepare themselves for life in secondary school.
